Press Release

December 29th, 2016

The Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee (“HYPC”), Sumitomo Corporation (“SC”) and Thang Long Industrial Park II Corporation (“TLIP2”) have agreed to work together in a new initiative which is being created specifically for inviting small and medium sized manufacturers to Hung Yen Province for strengthening supporting industries in the Hung Yen province.

HYPC is focusing on developing and promoting supporting industries in the province with the intention of attracting reputed manufacturers further and thereby generating employment opportunities.

For the last ten years, TLIP2 operating with SC group as a single entity has developed and managed an industrial park in Hung Yen province, Vietnam. There are nearly 60 reputed manufacturers operating in our industrial park.  The types of our industrial tenants include a wide range of manufacturing of auto/motorcycle parts, metal processing, electronic components, transportation & construction machineries. As part of the arrangements for inviting Japanese supporting industries to Vietnam, TLIP2 has developed and managed rental factories in the collaboration with the specific prefectures like Kanagawa Pref., Hamamatsu City, Hyogo Pref. and Kobe City. The goal of the collaboration is to reward customers from prefectures with financial benefits.

SC has a wealth of experience in multiple global industries for some time they have been engaging in a wide range of businesses handling metal products, transportation equipment, construction machinery, infrastructure, mineral resources, energy, chemical and electronic products, on a global scale. SC aims to grow together with the tenants at TLIP2 based on its business foundation, and will readily use its expertise for the benefit of mutual operational gains.

The culmination of the development plans is breaking into a new era where HYPC, SC and TLIP2 agree to establish the Japan Desk at TLIP2 for the following aims and objectives:

I. Fast Track Application:

Our goal is to enable the acceleration of the application process to an agreed timetable of completion within 3 days of submission for obtaining all necessary permissions and approvals for implementing projects in Hung Yen, Vietnam.

II. The mobilisation of supporting industries in the province:

The Japan Desk, through HYIZA, will support the companies to check if they can get the incentives which the Vietnamese government has provided to supporting industries.

III. Enhancing quality of life of the workforce in the province:

To work with relevant authorities for improvement of living conditions and training environment for workers, which continue to generate an abundant work force in the Hung Yen province

HYPC, SC and TLIP2 will enhance the functions of the Japan Desk according to the demands and requirements of small and medium sized manufacturers and supporting industries in Japan. We welcome the contribution of your comments towards this endeavor.
